Just Blogged By Dicovered Treasures

I can't believe it but the folks from Discovered Treasures just blogged about my Steampunk stores and my life as an artist! Please check them out and what they had to say about me at http://suzannemedrano.blogspot.com/.

Sea Journal

I have just torn over 200 pages of beautiful rice paper for my new nautical themed journal. I have to add some steampunk things to the cover and then bind the book. Look for it by this weekend on my Etsy store, www.autumnsteam.etsy.com.

The Blue Evidence Book

My new creation is a great addition to your steampunk collection. I handbound this book with blue recycled paper. There are over 200 pages in this journal. The crowning piece to this journal is the leather bookmark. I made the magnifying glass then attached it to the rivited leather bookmark. It adds so much to this book and can of course be used to mark any other book too!

On The Road

We are on our way to TX to participate in the Freak Show Festival. Just made it over the TX/NM boarder! The festival is on Saturday, in Austin, TX at 3pm! Visit their website for more info www.freakshowfestival.com.

Just a side note: I will suspend my Etsy and Artfire Stores from 3pm-2am on Saturday, October 23. All of my products will be for sale at the show and I need to take inventory before I re-open. If there is something you have been looking at you may want to buy it before then. I can't guarantee it will be there on Sunday morning. Remember ALL of my items are one-of-a-kind (OOAK) and can not be replicated.

Steampunk Time=Adventure

I just spent quite a few hours last night creating some last minute items to take to Texas. We are vending at the Freak Show Festival on Saturday as the only Steampunk booth there. Costumes are ready, cards printed, inventory counted and now my little creations are off to visit the South. (Now comes the semi-evil laugh) I took photos of the new stuff today so i can list on Etsy and Artfire. Here are some previews of what is to come.

The Steampunk Engineer's Arm Spring Loaded Holster

This is long over due but I have to mention Andrew's engineering skills and do a little bragging. A woman came to him and asked if he could create a arm holster that was spring loaded, so when triggered would reveal a gun ready to grasp and shoot. It has been seen in old films and tv shows such as the 'Magnificent Seven'. This is a fun item to wear and really compliments the wild wild west or even a mob type costume. There is nothing better than a mechanical element added to any serious costumer. This is just one example of what Andrew can engineer. He is willing to work with other artists on collaborations or with a customer on coming up with the perfect gadget. When a project interests him he works on it till it is perfect and will not be satisfied till it is done. If you are interested in having one of these custom arm pieces created for you, or have an idea but no way to execute it, contact Andrew at andrew@anglincues.com.

The journals are coming along...just a few more finishing touches and they will be ready to find a new home.

Working on the next journal. Just adding the beautiful "Athena" cameo to the cover of the book now. Next, I will add the lock and a bit of leather strapping.

The Breakthrough

A HUGE thanks to everyone out there keeping tabs on me. I really appreciate all the kind thoughts and comments of all of my followers. I am now, just this week, seeing sales on my Etsy store www.autumnsteam.etsy.com. I can't tell you how many times I have jumped for joy at waking up and finding I had sold a piece of art! The photos in this post are of the things I sold this week.

I sold my first piece of art to a person in Singapore too! I have made it to 'International Artist' status now and am thrilled. It has been a very exciting week for me and it finally feels like I will make it as an artist.

Keep checking back to this blog, there will be more fabulous creations popping up soon!
